Ye he rate my professor Hao Yue is one of the nicest professors I have ever met in my entire college career. Maybe he teaches better in person, but he lacks computer skills so half the time was spend trying to figure out how to use zoom. I enjoyed this prof and found that he was always willing to help or set aside time to explain a concept outside of class. Unfortunately, he can be a but wordy and overcomplicate things for the class. How can a professor be this bad, I would suggest learning the course online rather than by YE, he provides past papers that are of no use, and nothing of that paper reciprocates into the final exam, don't even get me started on the last project, I bet you everyone in the class ChatGPTd it cuz it was so hard, he didn't even teach that stuff. The class was chill overall which we only worked on our senior projects with our clients. He is much better than some profs in CS faculty. i met with him one on one when i was struggling in class, and he was pretty nice! this quarter was his first time teaching ics32, so he was tweaking the class while teaching it. Overall he is super knowledgable and encourages participation, but it can be hard to know what the question is sometimes. Maybe their lectures are fun and understandably. I believe my performance could have been better if I had taken it more seriously from the beginning. He posts all of his notes and gives exam review sheets as well. Attendance isn't necessary if you have friends who can send you the pop quiz prompts. Professor Ye gives good feedback and will answer questions, and can explain the concepts well, the test comes directly from the homework. He will truly listen to students' advice and offer as many helps as he could. He also bought in alumni and people from various private and state sectors who currently work after taking this class and it was interesting to hear stories I really don't think Kaidi Ye deserves only 1 out of 4.
